What we collect, and why
- If you sign in with Google (to upvote stories or write a comment on this site): Google tells us an anonymous account number (Google's "sub"), your name and your profile picture. The name and picture are kept only in a cookie in your own browser, so the page can greet you; our database stores only the anonymous account number. We use it to count your votes (three per episode) and to limit comments to five a day.
- Your votes: which stories you upvoted, with the anonymous account number and the time.
- Comments you write on this site: the text, the episode, the time and the anonymous account number. The text is shown publicly on the comment wall without your name, and is read by the show's AI change board.
- YouTube comments: the comment wall shows the comments written under our own YouTube videos, read through the YouTube API Services. We show the text, the number of likes and the board's decision, never the author's name, picture or channel. For our own records we keep a scrambled (salted hash) form of the author's channel id; the YouTube API's full answer (which includes names) is kept only as a working copy on our own computer, overwritten each time the comments are read, and is never published.
- Technical data: our host (Cloudflare) processes IP addresses and request data to serve and protect the site. We run no advertising and no tracking or analytics cookies.
YouTube API Services
This site and our channel tools use the YouTube API Services. By using the comment wall you are also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. You can revoke this site's access to your Google account at any time at Google's security settings.
Cookies
One cookie, rn_session, keeps you signed in (up to 30 days). It is set only when you sign in and is removed when
you sign out. No other cookies are used.
Sharing
We do not sell or share personal data. Data is stored with Cloudflare (hosting and database) and comes from Google (sign-in, YouTube). Comments are shown publicly without names, as described above.
How long we keep it
Votes and site comments are kept as part of the show's public record of how it was made. YouTube comment data is refreshed from YouTube and removed from our wall when it is removed from YouTube, and in any case no later than 30 days after we stop being able to read it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete data about you, or object to its use: write to [email protected] from the Google account you signed in with. You can also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).
